A: Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a certificate that is mandatory for home owners wanting to sell their property (as part of Home Information Pack - HIP) and also mandatory for landlords wanting to rent their property. The certificate shows the energy efficiency of the property on a scale of A-G. The most efficient properties being in band A and the worse in band G. The certificate also shows the impact the property has on the environment and also includes reconmendations to improve energy performance.

Q: What is the cost of your EPCs?

A: We only charge a fixed fee of £65 and we endeavour to try to get your assessment complete within 3-5 days max.

Q: Who can issue a Domestic Energy Assessment?

A: A qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) is responsible for the issue of and EPC or Energy Performance Certificate for Domestic premises and in the case of a commercial EPC a qualified Commercial Buildings Assessor (CBA).

Q: How long is your EPC valid for?

A: EPCs are valid for 10 years, except they are part of a Home Information Pack (HIP). If it is part of a HIP, an EPC must be less than three years old when the building is first put on the market.

Q: Do we do commercial EPCs as well?

A. Unfortunately we only cover domestic EPCs but hope to cover commercial EPCs in the near future

Q: What is the next procedure after I have ordered my EPC?

A: Afterordering your EPC with us, we will contact our qualified assessor to endeavour to follow you instructions as closely as we can in order to fulfil the assessment. We at yourPlaceMarketing or our quailified assessor will contact you to arrange a date and time for the assessment to be completed.

Q: How do I receive my EPC?

A: Once the assessment is completed, we will either send you a copy of the EPC via email with the report attached in a .pdf format (acrobat reader). If instructed, we can also post the EPC to your required address.

Q: I have now received my EPC. How can I improve my ratings?

A: The report give you an excellent guide as to improving your ratings but always consider improvements to your property by finding out more about cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and heating and boiler controls improvements to your home, including energy saving tips and advice.
